Kontraband Kollektif

Kontraband Kollektif was created in 2016 by Lieke van der Voort. Refusing to tie herself down to a band and longing for extended collaborations, Lieke decided that an open concept collective would be the ideal situation. Kontraband Kollektif is an always shifting, moving collaborative: anybody can be a part of it. As leader, Lieke composes the material, usually with specific musicians in mind. The style of music generally falls in Art Music/Jazz and Avantgarde. Improvisation plays an extensive part in this collective’s aesthetic and most pieces are of a guided-improvisational nature. Kontraband Kollektif’s debut EP, Atropos, was released January 2018.
